Materials
The SofTec Genu is made from the following materials: Polyamide (PA), Spandex/Elastane (EL), Polyester (PES), Cotton (CO), Silicone (SI), Polyurethane (PUR), Polycarbonate (PC), Polyoxymethylene (POM), Elastodiene (ED), Polyethylene high-density (PE-HD), Zinc alloy, and Aluminum.
The knitted fabric is anatomically contoured, breathable, and horizontally inelastic (Vector knit) for superior stability, while the lateral sidebars are made of aluminum. The viscoelastic pad supports correct patellar positioning and provides a massage effect with every movement.
Care Instructions
Before washing:
The hinged splints must be removed from the side pockets before washing. To do so: open the two thigh straps and pull them out of the plastic loops. Secure the ends of the strap by turning them over. Open the side pockets by pulling the entire Velcro area to the side, then remove the two splints. Note that the splints are shaped to fit the body and are therefore different — they are color-coded and must be reinserted into the same side pockets after washing. Before washing, guide the straps back through the plastic loops and close all Velcro fasteners so that the hook-and-loop ability is not impaired.
Washing:
Hand wash the SofTec Genu separately using a mild detergent at 20–30°C.
Drying:
Allow the orthosis to air dry — do not use a tumble dryer, as heat will impair the knitted fabric.
After washing:
Once washed and dried, reinsert the hinged splints into the correct side pockets, making sure the colored markings on the splints match the colors of the inner pockets. The upper, color-coded part of the joint splint must be pushed back under the color-coded inner pocket. Then close the side pockets.
General:
Never expose the orthosis to direct heat sources such as radiators or direct sunlight.
Bauerfeind GenuTrain S — Care & Materials
Materials
The GenuTrain S is made from the following materials: Polyamide (PA), Styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene block copolymer (TPS-SEBS), Elastodiene (ED), Polyurethane (PUR), Spandex/Elastane (EL), Viscose (CV), Polyester (PES), Polyoxymethylene (POM), and Cotton (CO).
The lateral joint splints (bars) can be heated and reshaped, allowing them to be adjusted to the anatomy of each individual. The breathable Train Knit fabric provides high wearing comfort and medical-grade compression (CCl 1, 20–30 mmHg).
Care Instructions
Before washing:
In the case of Velcro straps, these should be removed if possible or firmly attached to the designated place. If possible, pads or splints should also be removed before washing.
Washing:
All Train active supports can be washed separately in the washing machine at 30°C with liquid detergent. It is recommended to use a laundry net with a spin cycle of maximum 500 revolutions per minute.
Drying:
Dry the support in the air — do not use a dryer, as heat may impair the knitted fabric.
General:
Wash the support regularly so that the compression of the knitted fabric is retained. Avoid contact with ointments, lotions, or sub
