Size Chart – DonJoy TROM Advance Knee Brace

Materials:

  • Frame: High-grade Aluminum uprights (these can be contoured/bent by a professional to fit your leg shape).
  • Hinges: Durable Stainless Steel and high-impact plastic components.
  • Liners: Soft, breathable Foam (available in "Cool" version with small pads or "Full Foam" for more coverage).
  • Straps: Nylon with high-strength Velcro and quick-release plastic buckles.

Note: This product is not made with natural rubber latex, making it safe for those with latex sensitivities.

Care & Cleaning Instructions

To prevent skin irritation and keep the mechanical hinges working smoothly, follow these steps:

1. Washing the Soft Goods (Foam Liners & Straps)

  • Remove: Detach the foam liners and straps from the metal uprights.
  • Hand Wash Only: Use cold water and a mild detergent. Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals.
  • Rinse: Ensure all soap residue is rinsed out thoroughly, as leftover soap can cause skin irritation during long periods of wear.
  • Air Dry: Never put the liners or straps in a dryer. Lay them flat to air dry away from direct heat or sunlight.

2. Maintaining the Frame & Hinges

  • Wipe Down: The aluminum bars and plastic hinges can be wiped with a damp cloth and mild soap.
  • Hinge Care: The hinge mechanism usually requires very little maintenance. If it becomes stiff after heavy use or exposure to debris, you can apply a small amount of dry lubricant (like a Teflon spray). Do not use wet oils (like WD-40) as they can attract dirt and gunk up the gears.
  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check that the screws on the hinges are tight and that the telescoping buttons click securely into place.
