Materials

The CTi Custom is a truly custom-made carbon composite knee brace, individually fabricated to the patient's precise leg measurements using a combination of digital imagery, 3D scanning, and hand finishing. The rigid carbon composite frame provides an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and a rigid exoskeleton that stabilizes the knee joint. The name CTi reflects the original design's carbon frame and titanium hinges.

Anatomically correct Accutrac hinges are designed to closely follow the knee's natural three-dimensional rolling and gliding motion, helping to prevent constraining forces while maintaining precise stabilization. The hinges accept tool-free extension stops, adjustable in 10° increments, for range of motion control. Breathable liners coated with bio-inert Össur Sensil Silicone reduce migration and minimize skin irritation. Reversible field-serviceable buckles and trimmable hook-and-loop straps allow for quick, tool-free adjustments. All materials are non-corrosive, making the brace suitable for use in all water sports.

The CTi Custom is available in three frame models:

Standard — best compromise of weight and impact resistance; ideal for very active average-to-large users at medium to high impact levels.

ProSport — the most rigid option with the highest carbon fibre content; recommended for the largest users and highest-impact sports such as motocross.

Vapor — a lighter-weight option for low to medium impact levels and everyday use.

All models are available in 12 standard colours in matte or gloss finish, or with custom paint and graphic designs. An optional PCL strap kit adds posterior support for users with PCL instability. Accessories include replacement straps, pads, liners, and a motocross kit. A super-short frame version is available for patients 5'3" (160 cm) and under.

Care Instructions

Soft goods (straps and pads):
Remove all straps and pads from the frame before cleaning — all attach via hook-and-loop and are easily removed. Wash in cold water with a mild, non-detergent soap. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. Do not machine wash and do not use a tumble dryer.

Frame and hinges:
Wash the frame separately from the soft components. First, check the hinges and remove any foreign objects such as dirt, grass, or sand — foreign material in the hinge can cause damage. Clean off any dirt or debris from the frame, rinse thoroughly with fresh water, and allow to air dry. Once both the frame and soft goods are completely dry, reassemble the brace before use.

Water use:
The brace is fully non-corrosive and suitable for all water sports. An over-sleeve is recommended during water sports to keep straps firmly in place during high-speed falls or impacts. After contact with salt water or chlorinated water, rinse the frame and all straps thoroughly in clean fresh water and air dry. Removing salt and debris after water use is important for the long-term performance of the brace.

General:
Apply the brace directly to skin where possible. Do not expose to excessive heat. Avoid contact with ointments, lotions, or substances containing grease or acids. Modifications to extension stops or fit adjustments should be made by a qualified healthcare professional.
