Color Chart – Össur Unloader One® Custom Knee Brace

Materials

The Unloader One Custom is custom fabricated to the patient's leg measurements, using a lightweight, flexible polycentric hinge placed on the side of the affected knee compartment. The brace features a rigid yet contoured thigh shell and calf shell that conform to the patient's anatomy for a low-profile fit under clothing. Liners on the shells are coated with bio-inert Össur Sensil Silicone to reduce brace migration and minimize skin irritation.

The patented 3-Point Leverage System unloads the affected knee compartment through a single hinge combined with dual Dynamic Force System (DFS) straps. The upper DFS strap incorporates a dosing ratchet for tool-free load adjustment by the patient. Colour-coded Quick Fit Buckles (blue for the lower strap, yellow for the upper) with Buckle Stability Shelves make application intuitive and secure. Straps and strap pads are removable and trimable for individual fit. An optional SmartDosing dial version enables single-hand, on-the-fly load adjustment, including through clothing.

The hinge accepts extension stops (0°, 5°, 10°, 15°, 30°) and a 90° flexion stop for range of motion control. The brace is available for medial (varus/bowlegged) or lateral (valgus/knock-knee) compartment OA, and in standard or short frame lengths (short frame recommended for patients with a leg length of 85 cm/33.5" or less). Available in 12 standard colours in matte or gloss finish, or with custom paint.

Care Instructions

Liners (quick clean):
Liners may be wiped down in place using rubbing alcohol for routine daily cleaning.

Full wash:
Remove the liners, straps, and strap pads before washing. Hand wash using mild, non-detergent soap and lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly and air dry. Do not machine wash and do not place in a tumble dryer.

Hinge:
Check the hinge regularly for foreign materials such as dirt, sand, or grass, which can cause damage. Clean the hinge using tap water and/or compressed air. The hinge should only be disassembled by a healthcare professional.

Water use:
If the brace is used in salt water or chlorinated water, rinse thoroughly with fresh tap water and air dry.

General:
Do not use bleach or fabric softeners. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Do not use an undersleeve beneath the brace, as this can encourage migration. Modifications to range of motion stops or shell contour should only be made by a healthcare professional.
