Materials

The Armor FourcePoint features a T6061 aircraft-grade aluminum frame that is fully mouldable, allowing it to be contoured to the individual's leg shape for a more customized fit. The frame incorporates a steel-reinforced hinge plate for additional strength. The patented low-profile FourcePoint hinge uses a spring mechanism to provide progressive resistance during the last 25° of knee extension, actively reducing the time spent in the ACL "at-risk" position. The resistance level is adjustable across five settings and can also be disengaged entirely to function as a standard hinge.

The brace uses DonJoy's 4-Points-of-Leverage system to distribute load across four contact points on the tibia and femur, reducing strain on the ACL. Internally mounted swiveling strap tabs accommodate natural leg movement and promote bilateral (left/right) use. A supra-condyle pad grabs the bony contour of the inside of the knee to resist migration during activity. The swooping thigh cuff provides inner-thigh clearance. Hook-and-loop (Velcro) straps and EVA/nylon padding complete the soft goods. The brace is available in ACL, PCL, and Combined Instability (CI) configurations, with the CI version adding a gastroc strap across the front of the thigh for additional retention.

Care Instructions

Hand wash the soft goods (straps and padding) with mild soap and lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry only. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron, or bleach. Wipe the frame and hinge components clean with a damp cloth. Do not expose the brace to excessive heat or direct sunlight. Avoid contact with ointments, lotions, or substances containing grease or acids. After contact with salt water or chlorinated water, rinse with fresh water and air dry.

The frame and hinges are covered by a 1-year manufacturer's warranty; soft goods are covered for 6 months. The FourcePoint version is backed by DonJoy's Knee Guarantee Program.
